"Easter Eggspress" departing from Belfast

All aboard the Easter Eggspress for a run along the shores of Belfast Lough behind steam engine No.4. Every child travelling will receive an easter egg from on board entertainers. Baloon Modellers will keep the children entertained.

Trains depart from Belfast Central Station at 1235 and 1445. Each trip lasts approximately 1 hour 50 minutes.

Tickets are £10 and are available from Belfast Welcome Centre on
0044 (0) 28 9024 6609,
or book online by clicking the ticket below.

There are many more events being planned about which we are not ready to announce details.

Since 1964 the RPSI has been operating preserved passenger trains all over the island of Ireland.  With a few exceptions we use our own carriages pulled by our own steam engines.  Thanks to the continued cooperation of Iarnród Éireann and Northern Ireland railways we can run our trains on most parts of the rail network.

This page will carry details of the planned public trains for the coming year.  For large groups or for filming purposes it is sometimes possible to hire one of our trains to run at a time and place to suit you!

The Portrush Flyer
We're pleased to announce the return of the "Portrush Flyer" for 2010. This train has not run since 2006 due to the railway line between Ballymena and Coleraine needing rebuilt. The line is now back up to standard, but now we have been advised that our train will not be allowed north of Coleraine. Northern Ireland Railways have kindly allowed us to borrow the diesel railcar which lies over at Coleraine to bring our passengers the short distance to Portrush. So you can travel to Portrush by steam this year - all except the last six miles!

REMEMBER - ADVANCE TICKET PURCHASE IS ESSENTIAL FOR ALL TRAINS unless otherwise stated.
Attempting to travel without a ticket at the main departure station OR without a ticket and at a different station on the route causes the RPSI major problems.  We sell tickets for the seats on the train, therefore you are very likely to be refused a seat on the train or be asked to leave if you do not have a ticket.  Please purchase your ticket in advance.
PLEASE ACT RESPONSIBLY AROUND OUR TRAINS:
If you are going to watch, photograph or travel on an RPSI steam train, please remember that the trains are operated on the national rail networks along with scheduled passenger services.  Trespassing to watch or photograph a steam train endangers your safety, the safety of others and disrupts the operation of all trains on the network - please act responsibly.  Both Translink and Iarnród Éireann have severe penalties for trespassers.
