This locomotive, owned by
the
Downpatrick
and Co Down Railway, is at Whitehead for overhaul.
Work so far has concentrated on making
and fitting new crankpins to the coupled wheelsets.
The boiler, while several years old, is
as new as it was built relatively recently by Woolf's of Ballymena.
The tanks are replacements, but the cab
is original. No.1's sister, No.3, was totally rebuilt at Whitehead in the
late 20th century. |
No.1 at Whitehead in 2005.
